ABOUT ART CLASS
Art classes at Immaculate Conception School are focused on the joy of learning through the artistic process. Students learn the basic skills of visual art (line, color, shape, form, perspective, composition, etc.) , which gives them the tools to express their creativity. We explore a variety of mediums, from simple pencil drawings, to painting and sculpting in clay, paper mache, even recycled materials! We study the rich history of art and the artists who have created in each of these mediums.
Collaboration with classroom teachers, curriculum and parents inspire many projects. We often produce large art projects as a whole school. We received recognition for our collaborative peace sign made from our students' writings about what they do to contribute peace to the world. We are currently working on posters for the Declaration of Human Rights poster contest.
